Engines such as the Ford 1.0 EcoBoost and the 1.2 PureTech used in Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall and DS models drive the camshafts with a toothed belt that sits in oil. It is quieter than a chain, but the belt is very sensitive to the wrong oil and long service intervals.
A degrading wet belt can starve the engine of oil pressure or, on PureTech engines, affect the brake vacuum pump. We confirm the replacement interval for your engine, inspect the belt condition and check the oil strainer for debris as part of the job.

- What are the warning signs of a failing wet belt?
