Coolant change
Coolant protects against frost in winter, overheating in summer and corrosion inside the engine all year. We drain, flush and refill with the correct type — book one if your coolant is old, discoloured or you keep topping it up.

Antifreeze contains inhibitors that stop the water pump, radiator and engine passages from corroding. Those inhibitors wear out over time, and mixing incompatible coolant types can turn the mixture into sludge that blocks the radiator and heater.
We check the concentration and condition, pressure test the system for leaks, then drain and refill with the coolant your engine maker approves. Air is bled out properly afterwards so the engine does not overheat from an air lock.

- How often should coolant be changed?
- Intervals vary widely — some cars every few years, others use long-life coolant for much longer. We look up the schedule for your car and check the condition either way.
- Why does my car keep losing coolant?
- Usually a leaking hose, radiator or water pump, but it can also be a head gasket problem. A pressure test is the quickest way to find out, and we do one as part of the job.
- Can I just top up with water?
- In an emergency, yes, to get you home. Long term, plain water dilutes the antifreeze and corrosion protection, so the mixture should be put right soon after.
