Why book with us

Fiat Ducato Servicing & Repairs Oldbury with clear advice.

The Ducato is a big, practical van that does a huge amount of heavy work, from parcel delivery to building sites. It is also built alongside the Peugeot Boxer and Citroën Relay, so many parts and faults are shared. We service and repair Ducatos of both recent generations at our Oldbury workshop, plus the smaller Doblo and Fiorino, following Fiat's schedule and using oils to the right specification.

Working Ducatos tend to need the same few jobs. Clutches wear quickly under heavy loads and in stop-start traffic. Older X250 vans can develop gearbox bearing noise as the miles build up. Diesel particulate filters block when the van only does short runs, and newer Euro 6 vans use AdBlue, which can bring warnings and a countdown to a no-start if a part fails. We know these vans and look for these faults.

A Ducato off the road can stop a whole day's work. We diagnose it properly, tell you what is urgent and what can wait, and give you a written quote. Nothing is done without your approval. Under block exemption rules a service with us, using parts and oils to the right specification, keeps your manufacturer warranty valid, so there is no need to go back to a dealer.

Most Ducato vans are plated at 3,500kg, which is MOT Class 7. We do not carry out Class 7 tests, so those vans need to go to a Class 7 centre for the MOT itself. We still service and repair them, and a pre-MOT check with us helps them pass first time. The Doblo and Fiorino are small vans plated well under 3,000kg, so they are Class 4 and we can test them here.

We are a family business and have looked after vehicles in Oldbury since 1991, for drivers and businesses in West Bromwich, Rowley Regis, Smethwick and Halesowen too. We are open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, at 93 Park Lane, Oldbury, B69 4LP, and you are welcome to drop in and talk to us. For a Ducato service, a fault or a repair quote, call us on 0121 544 3736.

Common questions

Can you MOT my Ducato?
Most Ducatos are plated at 3,500kg, which is MOT Class 7, and we do not do Class 7 tests. If your van is plated at up to 3,000kg it is Class 4 and we can test it. The weight is on the plate in the door pillar. We service, repair and do pre-MOT checks on all Ducatos.
Why does my Ducato clutch wear so quickly?
Ducatos often carry heavy loads in stop-start traffic, and that is hard on the clutch. Pulling away loaded on hills and riding the clutch add to it. If the revs rise without the van speeding up, it is likely worn. We check the clutch and flywheel and quote before replacing anything.
My Ducato is whining from the gearbox. What is it?
A whine or rumble that changes with road speed often points to worn gearbox bearings, which are a known issue on high-mileage Ducatos. Wheel bearings and driveshafts can sound similar. We road test the van to pin it down, then explain the options and costs.
What does an AdBlue warning mean on a Ducato?
On Euro 6 Ducatos it may mean the AdBlue tank needs filling. If it is full and the warning stays, a pump, heater, sensor or doser may have failed. The van can count down to a no-start if it is not fixed. We read the fault codes and find the cause.
Is the Ducato the same as the Boxer and Relay?
They are built together and share the body and many parts, though Fiat uses its own Multijet engines while Peugeot and Citroën use their own diesels. Parts are easy to source and many faults are common to all three. We work on all of them.
Do you work on the Doblo and Fiorino?
Yes. We service and repair both, including DPF faults, clutches, brakes and suspension. They are small vans plated well under 3,000kg, so they are Class 4 and we can carry out the MOT here as well. Booking the service and MOT together saves you a second trip.
Will using you affect my Fiat warranty?
No. Block exemption rules mean an independent garage can service your van without losing the manufacturer warranty, as long as the schedule is followed and the parts and oils meet the right specification. We do both and record every service.
How do I book my Ducato in?
Call us on 0121 544 3736 or drop in to 93 Park Lane, Oldbury, B69 4LP. We are open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm. Have your registration ready and tell us what the van is doing, and we will give you a clear quote before we start.
