Common cause — out-of-line wheels

If your car drifts left or right even when you are not steering, the most common cause is wheel misalignment. Hitting a pothole, curb, or bump can knock the suspension geometry out. Worn suspension components — bushes, ball joints, or tie-rods — also cause pulling.

Check your tyre pressures first

Before assuming alignment is broken, check your tyre pressures. An under-inflated tyre will make the car pull toward that side. Correct the pressure and check again. Uneven wear on one side of a tyre also points to alignment issues.

Brake issues can cause pulling too

If the car pulls WHEN you brake, one brake may be sticking or the brake fluid may be unevenly distributed. This is less common than alignment but just as important to fix because it affects stopping safety.
